La Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas de Hollywood dio a conocer las nominaciones al premio Oscar, cuya 93a. edición se celebrará el 25 de abril del presente año.
La presencia mexicana este año es prometedora: el equipo integrado por Jaime Baksht, Michelle Couttolenc y Carlos Cortés aspira al Oscar en la categoría de Mejor Sonido (antes Mezcla de Sonido y Edición de Sonido) gracias a su trabajo en la potente película Sound of Metal (disponible en Amazon Prime Video). Los mexicanos se medirán a títulos como Mank, News of the World, Greyhound y Soul.
