Leonardo, Miguel Ángel, Raphael y Donatello están de regreso en un flamante largometraje animado que le llena a uno las pupilas con su colorido y su estridente estilo visual. TORTUGAS NINJA: CAOS MUTANTE es divertidísima de principio a fin y se merece un sonoro “¡cowabunga!”
Dirigida por Jeff Rowe y coescrita por Seth Rogen, la cinta está a la altura de las expectativas en un 2023 que ha sido generoso en el terreno del cine animado. En la pieza hay un equilibrio certero entre técnica y corazón, estilo y diversión.
CAOS MUTANTE cuenta la historia de cuatro tortugas pasando por la abrumadora adolescencia, quienes han crecido bajo el cuidado —y entrenamiento— de la rata Splinter en las alcantarillas. El cuarteto sueña con vivir como un adolescente promedio y desea probarle al mundo que pueden coexistir sin que les tengan miedo. Con la ayuda de April O’Neill, las tortugas afrontaran una amenaza llena de criaturas excéntricas.
Primero que nada, a este nuevo esfuerzo de las TORTUGAS NINJA en la pantalla grande hay que celebrarle su guión. Es cierto que todo mundo está hablando de la chulada visual que es esta película, pero gran parte de su encanto radica también en su texto: no solo está repleto de humor sino que nos presenta a cuatro tortugas que ¡sí parecen adolescentes! Sus preocupaciones, tropiezos, necedades, tonterías y referencias pop son las de la pubertad y eso le da mucha vida y autenticidad a la peli.
Y sí, sí, confirmo que es puro eye-candy del bueno, cine de entretenimiento hecho y derecho, que divierte son complicaciones.
Estrenada en el festival de Annecy donde recibió una ovación de pie de seis minutos, TORTUGAS NINJA: CAOS MUTANTE es, indudablemente, uno de los estrenos de animación más emocionantes y frenéticos del año.

Directed by Jeff Rowe and co-written by Seth Rogen, the film lives up to expectations in a 2023 that has been exciting when it comes to animated cinema. The movie strikes a precise balance between technique and heart, style and entertainment.
MUTANT MAYHEM tells the story of four turtles navigating the overwhelming world of adolescence, who have grown up under the care —and training— of Splinter in the sewers. The quartet dreams of living like regular teenagers and aims to prove to the world that they can coexist without being feared. With the help of April O’Neill, the turtles will face a threat full of eccentric creatures.
First and foremost, this new cinematic endeavor of the TMNT deserves praise for its script. It’s true that everyone is talking about the visual achievement that this film is, but a significant part of its charm also lies in its writing: not only is it brimming with humor, but it introduces us to four turtles who truly seem like teenagers! Their concerns, stumbles, foolishness, quirks, and pop culture references are those of puberty, and this adds a lot of vitality and authenticity to the movie.
And yes, I can confirm this film it’s pure eye-candy of the highest quality.
Premiered at the Annecy Festival, where it received a standing ovation of six minutes, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: MUTANT MAYHEM is undoubtedly one of the most exciting and frenetic animated releases of the year.
